Upgrade from Access Database
If you have high volume of data or want to move from single user to multiple users in a networked environment, we recomment upgrading from MS Access databases to more faster and reliable MSDE, MSSQL or MySQL databases. If you're not sure what database to upgrade to, read Choose the right Database. Steps to Upgrade from Access databases: 1. Install the new Database If you plan to updgrate to MSDE, read How to obtain and install Microsoft MSDE and How to install MSDE ready for network use. If you plan to updgrate to MSSQL, read How to install Microsoft SQL Server If you plan to updgrate to MySQL, read How to install MySQL on Windows and Extend the max_allowed_packet variable 2. Create the New Database 2.1. Enable Multiple Users - go to Administration -> Settings and check the Enable Multiple Users checkbox. 3. Synchronize from Access to the New Database
3.1. Restart the application, and login into the Access database. |
